Heaven is not just a hope—it is a promise from God to those who follow Jesus Christ. Scripture tells us that eternity with Him is not something we can earn by good works, church attendance, or simply believing there is a God. Instead, it is the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ alone.
Jesus said in Matthew 7:21–23 that not everyone who calls Him “Lord” will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only those who do the will of the Father. This sobering truth reminds us that eternal life is not about religion, rituals, or appearances, but about a genuine relationship with Christ.
So how can we be sure? How can we know that our name is written in the Lamb’s Book of Life?
“I’m a good person.” Scripture tells us that no one is justified by works (Romans 3:20). Eternal life is not earned by good deeds.
“I believe in God.” Even the devil believes God exists (James 2:19). True salvation goes deeper than belief—it requires surrender.
“I go to church and pray.” These are good and important, but they do not save us. They are the fruit of faith, not the root of salvation.
The Word of God makes it clear: salvation is a gift that must be received (Romans 6:23). Eternal life comes only through faith in Jesus Christ—accepting His death and resurrection as the payment for our sins and making Him Lord of our lives (John 3:16, Romans 10:9–10).
A true follower of Christ will see transformation in their life through:
A Repentant Heart – Admitting our sin and turning to God with humility and faith (Acts 2:38).
The Presence of the Holy Spirit – The Spirit assures us, guides us, and empowers us to live in truth (Romans 8:16).
A Changed Life – Genuine faith produces visible fruit: a growing love for God and for others (1 John 2:29).
If you are unsure of your salvation, today is the day to settle it. God’s Word promises:
“If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!” (2 Corinthians 5:17)
“I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (John 14:6)
