What We Believe Matters Most

Our Beliefs

At The House of Worship, what we believe matters most. Every teaching, every gathering, and every act of worship is built on the foundation of God’s Word. Our desire is to honor Christ, live by the power of the Holy Spirit, and walk in unity as His people.

I. The Scriptures

We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God—true, trustworthy, and without error. It was written by men under the divine guidance of the Holy Spirit and serves as God’s perfect treasure of wisdom, instruction, and revelation. The Scriptures are our ultimate authority, revealing God as Creator, offering salvation through Jesus Christ, and guiding us in how to live. God’s Word is timeless and will remain the standard for truth until the end of time.

II. The True God

We believe there is one living and true God, who eternally exists in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. He is the Maker and Ruler of heaven and earth—perfect in holiness, love, and power. God alone is worthy of all worship, praise, and devotion, and we joyfully give Him glory as the one true and eternal King.

III. The Lord Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God—fully God and fully man. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, and revealed the Father’s love and truth to the world. Through His miracles, His sacrificial death on the cross, and His resurrection from the grave, Jesus provided salvation for all who believe. He is now seated at the right hand of the Father, interceding for His people, and we await His promised return. Jesus Christ is Lord over all creation, and in Him we place our faith, hope, and trust.

IV. The Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit is God, present and active from eternity, and given to all believers at Pentecost. The Spirit lives in every Christian, uniting us as one body in Christ and empowering us for holy living and service. He convicts the world of sin, brings new life to those who believe, seals us for the day of redemption, and continually fills us with power to live out God’s will. The Holy Spirit produces the fruit of Christ’s character in us and equips believers with spiritual gifts so that the Church may glorify Jesus and carry out His mission.

V. Man’s Fallen Condition

We believe that humanity was created holy and good, but by choice turned away from God. Through sin, all people are separated from God and fall short of His glory. By nature we are unable to save ourselves and stand under just judgment. Yet in His mercy, God provides the way of redemption through Jesus Christ. Every person must come to Him for forgiveness and new life.

VI. The Way of Salvation

We believe salvation is a gift of grace, received through faith in Jesus Christ. By His perfect obedience, sacrificial death, and victorious resurrection, He made full atonement for our sins. Jesus is the only Savior—compassionate, all-sufficient, and able to redeem completely. This salvation cannot be earned; it is freely given to those who repent, believe, and confess Him as Lord.

VII. The Gift of Salvation

We believe salvation is freely offered to all through the gospel. It is the responsibility of every person to respond by faith. Nothing can prevent the salvation of even the greatest sinner except the rejection of Christ. To accept Him is to receive eternal life; to reject Him is to remain under condemnation.

VIII. Regeneration (New Birth)

We believe that to be saved, a person must be born again by the Spirit of God. Through repentance, confession, and faith, we are made new in Christ and receive Him as Savior and King. This new birth is not a mere outward change but a deep transformation of the heart. True regeneration is evidenced by a changed life, marked by repentance, faith, and the fruits of the Spirit.

IX. Justification

We believe justification is the gracious act of God by which He forgives our sins and counts us righteous through faith in Jesus Christ. This is not based on our works but on the shed blood and perfect righteousness of Christ. Justification brings peace with God, restores our relationship with Him, and secures every spiritual blessing we need for both now and eternity.

X. Sanctification

We believe sanctification is both an immediate work of God and a lifelong process. At the moment of salvation, we are set apart for God. As we grow, the Holy Spirit continues to shape us into the likeness of Christ through Scripture, prayer, obedience, and surrender. Sanctification is the ongoing evidence of God’s grace in a believer’s life.

XI. God’s Purpose of Grace

We believe God’s grace is not only what saves us but also what sustains us. His grace calls, forgives, transforms, and keeps every believer. Those who truly belong to Christ will continue in faith by the power of God, not by their own strength.

XII. Perseverance of the Saints

We believe that true believers will remain steadfast in their faith until the end. This perseverance is not dependent on human ability but on God’s power and promise. Christ keeps His people, and nothing can separate us from His love.

XIII. The Law and the Gospel

We believe God’s Law is holy, just, and good. It reveals His perfect standard and shows us our need for a Savior. The Gospel is the good news that Jesus has fulfilled the Law on our behalf, delivering us from sin and restoring us to God through His grace.

XIV. A Gospel Church

We believe that all who are born again are members of Christ’s body, the Church. The local church is God’s chosen instrument to carry out His mission on the earth. Together we worship, serve, grow, and proclaim the gospel to the world. The church exists to glorify Christ, build up believers, and reach the lost with the message of salvation.
